Analytico advises about regulations concerning prepacked food products. A necessary service when you consider all the developments surrounding the labelling of foodstuffs. For example, EU-directives 2000/13/EC and 2003/89/EC give new regulations in addition to all the other demands for food safety and quality you are already familiar with.

Product Check
With Product Check, Analytico advises about the demands your product has to fulfil before you can trade it. These demands are based on the most recent laws and regulations. Analytico takes Dutch and European laws and regulations into account as well as the Codex Alimentarius and the laws and regulations of the country you want to do business in. Because of its network within Eurofins, Analytico is well informed about all the different international laws and regulations. After considering your wishes, Analytico is able to provide you with a made to measure advice. Below, you will find what Analytico has to offer. The consultancy report is a one-time investment for every product you trade in or produce.

Consultancy
After considering the relevant laws and regulations, Analytico informs you what you have to mention on the label and if organoleptic or other additional research is necessary.

Labelling control
When considering labels, Analytico looks into the following items.

Declarations on a prepacked product: common name of product; ingredient list; quantities of ingredients; net quantities; date of expiry; name of manufacturer, packer or distributor; country of origin; advice on storage and use. If applicable also: amount of alcohol; gas used in packaging; amount of caffeine; liquorice.

Other declarations: claims; nutritional value; use of ionized radiation; is the label clearly visible, easy to read, non-erasable and without writing errors.

Declarations of ingredients: quantitative declaration of ingredients; allergens; additives; colouring matter; sweeteners; flavours; aroma’s; microfood; food supplements.

Research and testing
Looking at the composition, ingredients and claims of your product, Analytico can advise about the necessity of additional research into, for example, nutritional value, vitamins or allergens. Taking into account the type of product and the raw materials used, Analytico advises if it’s necessary to look for contaminants in the product like mycotoxins or dioxins. This research makes it possible for Analytico to judge if you can trade your product on either the Dutch or a particular foreign market.

Organoleptic research
It is important that every batch of a product has the same characteristics. Analytico offers you (simple) organoleptic research that analyses taste, smell, appearance, texture and the presence of elements that should not be in the product.

Translation
If you want to export your product to a foreign country, the product has to possess a label in the language of that country. Analytico is able to translate these labels.
