Eurofins reinforces its leading position in laboratory testing in the Benelux by winning the outsourcing of SITA’s laboratory Envirolab

Through an agreement of March 4, 2005 with the SITA Netherlands to take over its laboratory Envirolab in Oosterhout/ The Netherlands, Eurofins | Analytico has reinforced its position in the Dutch market for environmental analyses. As a result of this agreement, Eurofins shall become the preferred laboratory organisation for SITA Netherlands, the leading recycling company in Europe, and obtains further potential for economies of scale in its environmental testing services.
This agreement with SITA Netherlands as well as small acquisitions carried out in the last months will have an impact of about € 10 million on Eurofins’ annual sales.
Envirolab is a profitable laboratory in the field of environmental analysis with annual sales of about € 4 million and 47 staff. Envirolab is mainly active in the analyses of soil, ground-and waste-water, sludge as well as waste and construction materials. Its customers come, for example, from environmental consulting, soil decontamination, rubble and waste recyclers, local authorities and municipalities. Envirolab was founded in 1991 and already obtained a STERLAB-accreditation 1.5 years later. In 1996, Envirolab has become part of the SITA Netherlands, the market leader in the Netherlands for collecting, processing and recycling of dangerous and not dangerous waste materials.
High quality, fast turn-around-times, electronic reporting, international focus and personalised customer services characterise the activities of Eurofins and Envirolab. Eurofins’ staff in the overall environmental business in the Benelux has now been increased to 290 full-time employees.
